Brief Description:  Left Side Main Gear Mount - Continued.

Much uncertainty before starting the bolting of the main gear weldments to the spar tunnel. The plans indicate to countersink the angle material, and dimple the thinner web into the countersink for the rivets and bolts inside the spar tunnel. Dimpling was not possible inside the tunnel, and the rivets inside the tunnel were all done by only countersinking the holes and no dimpling.

Seeing no alternative less dissasembling and rebuilding, I decided to continue with countersinking only for the flush bolt heads inside the spar tunnel.

Finished drilling, deburring and mounting SNB-L04-02L, but did not have enough CCP-46 rivets left to complete both main gear mounts on the outboard side flanges (7 rivets each side). Used 5 of the 9 remaining CCP-46 rivets on the left side mount.

When I installed a CCP-44 rivet from the underneath side into the weldment forward flange edge, I felt the rivets really needed to be CCP46 rivets as well. Drilled out the one CCP-44, and will complete when I have more CCP-46 rivets.
