Brief Description: Main Landing Gear Mount Fitting.
Made a template to mark the main gear leg openings in the bottom of the fuselage.
Cut left side main gear leg hole opening. Roughed it to within about 1/8", then fine trimmed it to the line.
Spent significant time trying to understand all plan views of the SNB-F04-02L/R main gear mounts.
Fould three rivent in place that I suspect were mistakenly installed, These were in the seat former support where the main gear mount tab is located. This takes three AN3 bolts. These rivets hindered fitting the mount into place. The three on the left side were drilled out and removed. Left gear mount was then set into place.
Once left mount was in place, I could check hole alignment. Hole still needs trimmed open a small amount at the aft/outboard end of the oval opening to provide room for the leg to clear the fuselage skin as it passes through and into the leg mount tube.
Rough cut, then fine trimming to layout marking of main gear leg hole in bottom of the fuselage.
Initial test fitting of left main langing gear mount.
Fine adjustment trimming needed for the gear leg to be able to clear going into the mount.
