Brief Description:  Fitting The SNB-T01-05L/R Fairing Panels.

This was a long and frustrating day, with accidents, then mistakes. The first aluminum panel was for the right side and I did not manage to get a sufficient curvature from side to side in the panel before trying to install it, and I managed to get a buckle in it. This panel was discarded.

I then fabricated another right side fairing panel, and got more of the required curvature in the panel, then I mistakenly updrilled the 3 holes in the tucked tab of the panel to 1/8". These three holes were to stay at 5/64" for the screws to thread into, and the holes in the turtle deck skin were to have been updrilled to 1/8". Tried to see if rivnuts could salvage the panel, but it left a rivnut rim in between the two skins, so this panel was discarded as well.

I finally got a third right side fairing panel fabricated with decent curvature. I discovered it's MUCH easier if the desired curvature is set (rounded over a rolling pin) before bending the sides to the proper mounting angles. This panel was mounted with no buckles, but did somehow get a small significant scratch in it. This was smoothed, then steel wooled a bit, and as such is a dull spot on the panel at this time.
