Had discussed and been told by Tech Support that the idea of remaking two new elevator root ribs, then attaching the elevator horn just a little slightly forward of its current position was spot on, and that they had needed to do this for one of their prototypes. I was planning to proceed with drilling out rivets today, but I received a follow-up email from Tech Support changing their position, and recommending I hold off on the root rib elevator drive modification, as it could cause firther problems down-line. Kerry streesed making sure the HS was pushed as far forward as the specs allowed (3 1/4" + 1/16" = 3.3125" from the reference point) and hinges on the elevator and stabilizer are correct.

Continued working to get HS to max forward position. Still unable to achieve the 160 degree reference angle for elevator up deflection with just the HS clamped in place, due primarily to the elevator horn control arm tip hitting the stop too early.

Checked elevator and stabilizer hinge positions and hinges on stabilizer that have the barrel loops half covered by the skin edge look to be spot-on. The elevator hinge has some fluctuation in the position relative to achieving the 1.45mm gap specified in the plans. Due to the involvement of replacing this hinge to reposition it, I am goning to see if I can't remove as much variability elsewhere before reomoving this hinge piece. Will revisit this if still necessar after looking closer at other areas.

Still getting a significant reduction in upward travel after adding the VS to check things while clamped in place. When slightly forcing the elevator up past the contact of the elvator horn control arm's weldment ring against the VS main spar forward strap surface, I see the next contact point and travel stop will be the skin edge on the VS. Still unable to achieve the 160 degree reference angle at this stop position.

Continuing to evaluate and analyze.
