Brief Description: Further Decreased Up Elevator Travel With VS.
Trimmed forward vertical stabilizer skin to allow clearance between skin edge and aft turtle deck surface. Clamped the VS into place to check position, clearances, and elevator deflection achieved.
Elevator up deflection went from the reference angle of ~163 degrees to 170 degrees. Found elevator horn cross bar hitting the shop side of a rivet protruding from the SNX-T12-02 main spar forward strap. I very slightly removed some material from the mushroom of the rivet and the cross bar then cleared.
The bar traveled aft and up a very slight amount further then struck the main spar forward strap itself, again stopping elevator deflection. The reference angle of deflection is now ~169 degrees.
Wrote all of this up and included pictures and submitted to Kerry at Sonex Tech Support. Awaiting a response on acceptable ways to proceed.
