Brief Description:  T02: Fitting Elevator To Hor Stabilizer - Part 2

T02: Updrilled and #30 clecoed elevator hinge halves to the horizontal stabilizer.

Dissassembled and deburred hinge halves and upper trailing edge on horizontal stabilizer.

Reassembled with #30 clecoes and rivetted hinge halves into final position.

Marked points for cotter pin retaining holes in inboard and outboard hinge lugs for each side.

Cut two (2) hinge pins to 35 1/2" length and dressed the ends. Inserted both pins into the elevator hinges to securely attach the elevator to the horizontal stabilizer.

Set top surfaces level across the horizontal stabilizer and elevator to determine proper specified angle for the cotter pin holes to be drilled at. 15 degree angle on the two outboard hinge lugs (these lugs are stationary during elevator movement), and 45 degrees for the two inboard hinge lugs (these lugs/pins will move with the elevator movement).
