Brief Description:  The inaugural bend!

Today was the day of the *inaugural bend*! Starting with the aileron nose ribs, Dwayne cut off the ""tabs"" from one of the routing jigs, and used it as a pattern to create another half of the bending sandwich. We kept the original routing jig handy, just in case we get in a situation where we have to create another aileron nose rib (or any others, for that matter).

Dwayne rounded over the edges of one of the blocks so when it's bent over, a radius is maintained to make sure that the metal doesn't crack. The radius was created by a scientifically applied process of sanding and measuring against a gauge created from a sheet of scrap steel from a ceiling light fixture. A bandsaw was used to make two 90-ish-degree cuts to one of the outside holes of the steel band. It made for a nice guide to set the 1/16" radius of the banding form board.

The process ws repeated for the aileron pocket ribs and the flap nose ribs.
