Brief Description:  Engine Cooling

Plans:
1: Continue incorporation of engine upgrades for additional cooling.
Status: 75% complete. I have added a three inch hole in the front grill with a 90 degree elbow on the back side. This will direct some additional cool air into the front of the engine compartment. In theory the fresh air will improve the circulation from the front to the top of the cover.

An in-line adapter has been inserted into the coolant line. A temperature sensor in the adapter controls the blower fan installed earlier. Since this is down stream of the radiator the set point of the switch should be for a lower temperature than had it been nearer the outlet. This one cycles between 175 and 185 degrees. We will see what happens next run-up if the blower makes a difference. I will be happy if I get the temperatures below 200 degrees at idle.

The exhaust manifold has been partially taped with 1" titanium exhaust tape from DEI. My 50 foot roll only covered two pipes. More is now on order. The tape should reduce under hood temperatures further. Hence the air behind the radiator should be cooler than before thus improving the heat exchange capability.
