Brief Description:  Oil Cooler Mount

Plans:
1. Mount the oil cooler.
Status. Started. After a great deal of study I have decided on an approach to mount the oil cooler. It may not work well but I think it's worth a try. The oil cooler will be mounted directly behind the radiator. This location will not offer the best airflow and will reduce radiator airflow. But it minimizes the impact to the outside appearance of the aircraft and allows me to keep the current overflow bottle location. It turns out that finding a good location for the overflow bottle was not going well if the cooler was located near there. There just aren’t good alternatives to the current location. Putting the cooler back at the firewall was a difficult bend for the hoses so I abandoned that idea for now.

To mount the cooler behind the radiator requires more space than currently available. So step one is to revise the radiator mount to be wider. This will make room laterally for the cooler. The depth however is pretty tight. So the airflow may be less than desired.
