Plans: 1. Add reinforcing gussets to airfoils. Status: Complete. I had used small gussets to tie the top and bottom ribs at the trailing edge of each airfoil. The resulting joint was adequate to keep the joint tight however I found some side play still remained. I elected to add another gusset to the opposite side of the joint thus creating a simple box. This will prevent any side movement. I also noticed that several of the gussets that tie the airfoil to the wing spar were distorted. This probably happened from using the ratchet straps to pull the leading edge trim into shape. Rather than replace these I added an additional gusset to the opposite side of the airfoil and tied it to the spar. 2. Fab the scalloped trailing edge for the lower wings. Status: Complete. As was done with the top wing, the 14" form and copper tubing were used to create the scalloped trailing edge. The rear tips of each airfoil are hammered around the tubing to capture it. Finally a rivet is added to keep it from shifting.
