Brief Description:  Center Section

Plans:
1. Continue center section assembly.
Status: The center section is about 50% assembled. Today's focus was the outside airfoils and cropping of the trailing edge. The outside airfoils need to be structurally reinforced to hold their shape during the fabric shrink. I elected to add a series of braces that will eventually be supported at the compression strut. The other airfoils are ok-as-is. The center airfoils have been cropped allowing the pilot to easily enter the cockpit. After that come the handholds. At this point all the airfoils are placed in their final location and I have started riveting them in place.
I do have one problem. The frame assembly does not lay flat anymore on the workbench. It twisted a little. Installed in the aircraft, the error is removed by the cabanes. I am concerned however that the fabric will pucker or fold once installed since the covering and shrink will be done on the bench.
