Brief Description:  Lower Wings & Cowl

Plans:
1. Complete cowl trim.
Status: 98% Complete. The DAP glue appears to be holding well enough that I installed the remaining trim. There appears to be a section that will need some touch up but other than that it looks pretty good.
2. Install cross bracing in lower wings.
Status: I was able to install the bracing into the left lower wing. I'm not sure of the final result just yet. It is not slipping onto the carry through easily. It appears that it is slightly out of square. Although I don't think that is the primary fit problem. A little sanding or tweaking of the carry through is probably necessary.
Technique wise the bracing was done by first squaring and clamping the frame to the table. One end of each cable was attached while allowing the excess to be formed into a loop that can be gripped using a ratchet clamp. The other free end was threaded through the opposite thimble with its free end looped as well. The two loops were then hooked and drawn together using the ratchet strap. Tension was just enough to pull the slack from the cables. The hardest part was getting enough space for the Nicopress to fit in the corners. Just doable but its not possible to know whether the tubes will distort after being removed from the table clamps. It looks pretty square but as I noted earlier it is not perfect.
