Brief Description: Quadrant Labels and Vert. Stab. Covered
Plans: 1. Add labels to the throttle quadrant. Status: Complete. 2. Cover the vertical stabilizer with 2.7 oz. Dacron fabric. Status: 50% complete. Using the Stewart Systems approach the vertical stabilizer was covered with uncertified Dacron fabric. This is my first experience covering and it does have its challenges. In this case I found that cutting a pinked edge is not easy with old pinking shears. I will be purchasing a pair of rotary pinking shears before doing the next frame. That said, covering the frame was successful with an initial shrink of 250 degrees and a second shrink at 300 degrees. The max would be 350 degrees. I did not observe any distortion of the frame. I still need to add perimeter tapes. Hopefully they will hide the irregular cut edge.
