Plans: 1. Upgrade fuel tank foam supports. Status: I was unsatisfied with the supporting cushions I constructed for the fuel tank. The original foam padding was wrapped in silicone rescue tape to protect it from abrasion, fuel spills and etc. Unfortunately the wraps were uneven and lumpy. I was concerned the effectiveness of the support would be poor. It also seems as though the foam had contracted over time. I decided therefore to rebuild them but in this case use shrink tubing to protect the foam cushion. The results are much improved. I have added photos that show the before and after results. That said another concern was the clearance from the top of my toes to the bottom of the support. When applying the rudder the two brush against each other. To fix this might require eliminating the lower support all together somehow. I will continue to ponder if there is a better way.
