Brief Description:  Windscreen & Cell Phone

Plans:
1. Complete windscreen installation:
Status: The final tailoring and installation of the windscreen was performed today. Overall it turned out well. I do think that I might have angled it back a few more degrees if I were to do it again. Once the tail is up and flying the windscreen will be getting close to perpendicular to the wind. I suspect it will perform well as is but I think it would be better angled back a little more.
2. Complete cell phone installation:
Status: This was a simple install. I bought a magnetic cell phone holder from Amazon. It uses adhesive tape to hold it in place. The only catch was the magnet was so strong the compass needed to be moved to the other side of the cockpit. That turned out to be fine as it placed the compass near the iPad mount. So now all the nav aids are basically in one space. The free Avare application has been added to the phone. So now the phone can be used to display tons of pilot information available at a glance. I plan to mostly use the phone's clock/timer as a primary flight instrument. Also, to support the phone, I added a 12VDC outlet and audio jack to complete the interface to the aircraft.
3. Continue cowl fabrication:
Status: I simply sanded and added a little primer today. I will let it dry before moving on to the next step -- painting. The inner cutout will be trimmed with a little rubber edging to clean up the look before grille installation..
