Brief Description:  Fuel Tank & Handles

Plans:
Note: Today's efforts were cut short as the power to the hanger was lost. The hanger has a single power line that is shared with other hangers. The C/B started smoking today and failed completely. C/B trips are common and have caused a great deal of time lost.
1. Start fuel tank installation.
Status: Well it is started. It appears that the fill tube is not correctly positioned on the tank. I was unable to push the tank all the way forward as the tube interferes with the ribs. The tank is also narrower than expected. Hence I cannot pinch it from the sides between the existing frame ribs. I can deal with both but unfortunately I wasn't prepared for the issues. I was able to install the foam pipe insulators on the uppermost ribs. I wrapped them with F4 emergency tape to give them a clean finish.
2. Start tail carry handle installation.
Status: The carry handles are fabbed using 3/4 inch aluminum rod bent into shape. Other builders used welded steel members or straps bolted to the longerons. I chose this method as it did not require welding and would be a comfortable grip. Weight wise is probably similar given the difference in materials. This actually turned out to be very difficult to do. Bending the bars into shape was not easy. Unfortunately I could not secure the bars or cut them into shape given the power loss to the hanger.
3. Install stirrup hardware.
Status: Complete. I purchased the correct length bolts and replace the temporary ones. No problem.
