Status: About half way finished. The right side is assembled on top of the left side. This is to ensure they are in alignment. I layed out the tubes that were previously cut into their intended locations. Everything is held in place with clamps and jigs. Riveted gussets from the front firewall to behind the pilot seat station at F13. No significant issues.
Regarding the method, I decided to cut some 2 inch right angle aluminum corner stock into holding jigs. The basic idea is to precisely hold the fuselage tubing in location over the opposite half. In doing so the right and left sides should be mirror images. Well close to mirror images in practice. Things appear to be reasonably close but not exact. When I join the halves we will discover if any misalignments were significant. Fingers crossed!
