1. Add gussets to fuselage. Status: I added the gussets to the first few stations of the fuselage. I also added the tailpost gussets. Two errors were made in the process. Nothing serious I think.
First: The gussets at the front (FG1 and FG2) in the photos were installed to be flush with the firewall tubes. I did not think it through completely since the notches for the landing gear and cabanes are slightly off center. Will it make a difference? I will only know when doing the wings. For now I will leave it alone.
Second: The tailpost tube was mislocated when I riveted the gussets on. The tube extends about a half inch taller than the plans required. Fortunately I can trim it to shape. The question however remains if the bottom of the tube will now be too short for the tail skid (wheel). I should be able to deal with it if it is so probably not a big deal. A mistake none the less.
