Plans: 1. Continue engine break in. Status: Ongoing. I ran the engine for another 10 minutes at 3000 RPM with the cover in place. Unfortunately the oil temperature is running very high at 250 degrees. I have decided to install an oil cooler to mitigate this concern. Ideally I would like to see something closer to 220 degrees under load. That said the coolant is running stable at 210 degrees. 2. Paint insignia onto the rudder. Status: 50% complete. I decided to go with the cross pattee insignia. While rarely used on a DVII as is a streaky finish it is still true to the period.
