Plans: 1. Add perimeter tapes to the empennage. Status: 15% complete. Covering of the vertical stabilizer is complete. The rudder is partially complete. The horizontal stabilizer is waiting its turn. Note, I decided to add some additional surface tapes to the rudder and elevator to improve the finished appearance. So these tapes will need time to dry before adding more perimeter tapes.
I spent quite a bit of time cleaning excess cement from the vertical stabilizer. While adding the perimeter tapes I had wiped excess cement toward the pinked edge rather than down the length. I thought it would give a cleaner pinked edge. It did except it also created a mess of cement to clean off the part. I also found that a lot of glue is being wasted by trying to apply a generously wet coat to bed into. I am finding that a little less works as well and saves both on product and clean-up.
