Plans: 1. Finish painting the louvers and engine compartment cover. Status: 50% complete. The louvers are finished and the primer applied to the cover. When I removed the masking tape however the paint lifted from the black rails. It will need to be completely refinished. 2. Install transponder system. Status: 75% complete. With the exception of the wire harness the transponder has been installed. Two things of note. 1. I installed the boxes on the bottom side of the equipment tray. The units were so small they easily fit above the elevator pushrod. The bottom surface is more accessible from a maintenance perspective so it seemed the thing to do. 2. The antenna is located directly underneath the bay as might be expected. I noticed that the stirrup in in close proximity. There is a possibility of some interference with the signal. Time will tell if the antenna needs to be moved.
