Brief Description:  Power Bus Cover and Fuel Pumps

Plans:
1. Create a protective cover for the battery buses.
Status: 80% Complete. It seemed advisable to shield the battery power buses to avoid shorting. I cut a small plastic barrier and mounted it on standoffs. I still need to create some non-conductive thumb screws to hold the cover on.
2. Reinstall the fuel level sensor.
Status: Complete. I had removed the sender when testing the electronics a while ago. I reinstalled it today. It was a little tricky as it wasn't obvious that there was a specific orientation required. I made a few failed attempts before realizing this fact.
3. Test the fuel pumps.
Status: 10% Complete. I added about one gallon of fuel to the tank and checked for leaks. I didn't see any. The fuel pumps were then turned on but failed to pump. Power was present and they were drawing 15 amps according to the instrument panel. That's about 10 amps more than expected. After an hour or two troubleshooting I don't see the problem. They are failing to pump even though fuel is available and the power is applied. I suspect that having them mounted horizontally as opposed to vertically might be the problem. Their internal check valve might be closed. The installation notes recommend a vertical mount. Changing the orientation will cause a great deal of rework to the mount and wiring.
