1. Build a jig to cope the tubing. Status: Complete. The ShopSmith is now configured as a drill press. I added a larger work surface and trans-versing vise. This set-up along with a burr allows me to precisely cope small joints. The table tilts, so I can cope angled joints as well.
2. Create more blocks to secure the tubes. Status: Complete. I had run out of blocks laying out the fuselage. So I fabbed another 30.
3. Continue the lofting of the fuselage. Status: In Work. Previously I had dimensioned the horizontal pieces and blocked them in. Today I focused on the vertical dimensions. I noticed that the AA plans did not provided dimensions for the aft half of the fuselage. At the moment I have a gentle curve for the lower longeron. It looks off to me. I think it should be flatter. Looking on the internet it appears to be flat diagonal as opposed to a curve. I will change it next session.
