Brief Description:  Installing Cable Brackets & Bungee

Plans:
1. Install cable brackets.
Status: Complete: The cable brackets needed to be attached to the brake drum backing plates. This was a simple matter of locating the holes to drill and mating it up. The only trick was to maintain alignment. This task went uneventfully.

2. Install the washers for the bungee cables.
Status: Complete.

3. Tie the bungee cables.
Status: Started. After some research on the internet and advice I elected to use the following process to tie the bungee.
a. Select appropriate length. I chose 6 feet for one leg in this case
b. Start with a clove Hitch to the axle
c. Pull bungee as tight as you can (Robert said 50%)
d. Tie 5 loops using a figure eight
e. Finish with a square not.

After several failed attempts I called it a day. The only thing that went well was the Clove Hitch. This is mainly because I found that 6 feet of cable was too short to pull comfortably for 5 loops. Robert had provided 14 feet of bungee. I reserved 2 feet for the tail wheel and split the rest in half. I am not sure what it will take for the tail wheel but another two feet of bungee would have been nice.
