Plans: 1. Troubleshoot the low oil pressure indication. Status: 25% complete. I decided to replace the oil pressure sender since it had obvious damage. Doing so requires removing the exhaust manifold. After removing the exhaust I observed that the wires to the sender had also melted within the thermal sleeve. So heat from the exhaust damaged the wires and the sender even with the sleeve. Strangely the wires for the oil temperature sensor were completely unharmed. The plastic jacket of the pressure sender wires melted and gummed everything up. To correct this will take a different approach to shielding the wires from the high heat. I have decided to use a similar product to the thermal tape I wrapped the header with. This product is intended for wire bundles. Also I noticed that the oxygen sender wires showed no signs of damage. They are nearby. Apparently just this jacket material was a problem.
