Brief Description:  Fuselage Paint

Plans:
1. Add the cross insignia on the fuselage.
Status: Complete.
2. Perform an engine run and check temperatures.
Status: Complete. After painting the crosses I decided I was well past due for running the engine. Previously I have run the engine while varying the throttle. This always loaded the engine and made it difficult to verify if the temperatures were okay. Without the cooling effect of airflow in flight the high RPMs will challenge the radiator capacity. So today I just idled the engine for about 15 minutes at 1000 RPM. The coolant temperature stabilized at around 210 degrees indicated with oil around 180 degrees indicated. Accounting for the gauge errors this is not too bad. The thermal stickers applied on the radiator and oil pan both read about 10 degrees cooler. The coolant overflow bottle did not appear to have changed level at all. I am wondering if the thermostat opened. There are other thermal stickers I have yet to check. They are blocked by the cover at the moment.
