Brief Description:  Elevator, Horizontal and Vertical Stabilizer

Plans:
1. Tighten the fabric puckers in the elevator.
Status: Complete. I was able to remove the puckers with some directed touch-up heat at 250 degrees. No additional deformation of the structure was noted.
2. Add reinforcing tapes to the horizontal stabilizer.
Status: 50% complete. The fabric must be secured to the ribs with rivets. Every four inches is the minimum spacing. My spacing varies between three and four inches depending on the rib. I decided to use #4 truss screws instead of rivets as was done by Sam Buchanan. The screw head protrudes more than a rivet but it is removable.
3. Recover the vertical stabilizer.
Status: Complete. I decided that I would recover the vertical stabilizer. The pinked cuts in the fabric were done poorly and it looked bad. This was my first panel and lowest on the learning curve. It looks better now. MEK was used as a solvent to remove the residue glue.
