Brief Description: Propeller Extension and Propeller
Plans: 1. Finish the cowl. Status: Complete. Plate nuts for the cowl’s panel were installed. The completed assembly has been reinstalled into the air vehicle. 2. Mount the propeller. Status: 50% complete. After the cowl was installed the new prop mounting surface projects about an inch in front of the cowl. Another half inch to an inch would have been slightly better but this seems to be adequate clearance. I ran the engine momentarily to verify everything turned freely. The prop has been mounted using temporary/substitute bolts. The tips of the bolts penetrate uncomfortably close to the cowl. I will need to relieve this with thicker washers. I won’t be able to run the engine with a prop installed until the flywheel is replaced.
