Plans: 1. Fab a bracket for the exhaust bend. Status: 75% complete. The new version of the bracket has been cut and is ready for welding. The forked part of the bracket has been bolted to the block. Short sections of a 2" exhaust slip fitting were cut to fit horizontally to the forks and in-line with the bend. Once welded a hose clamp will hard tie the bracket to the bend. The slip fitting sections were used as they have a curved surface that matches the diameter of the pipes. Hence it will lie flat once clamped into position. 2: Add the plate nuts to the lower engine panel. Status: Complete. I finally got the back ordered nuts today from Aircraft Spruce. They were riveted in place in short order. 3. Bond the cowl's airflow block in place. Status: 50% complete. A bead of shoe glue is being applied around the perimeter of the airflow block. I need to do this in short sections over several days to manage the goopy mess. The glue will otherwise run out to the front surface. I have also temporarily stuffed clay into the larger joints to block the glue from seeping out. Unfortunately that creates a different kind of mess to clean up after the glue sets.
