Plans: 1. Fab the lower cowl bowl. Status: 50% complete. The Bondo'd cowl was successfully removed from the mold without issues. Both pieces survived intact. After cleaning things up three coats of car wax were applied to the mold's inner surface. Again, two layers of fiberglass were formed into what will be the final part. After curing for about an hour I removed the fiberglass cowl from the mold. It was more difficult to remove this time but with some encouragement it released eventually. All the parts survived the ordeal. The fiberglass version did however have some areas where bubbles had formed while curing. This has resulted in small holes in the shell. JB weld to the rescue to fill the holes. I will wait another day for full curing to sand the surfaces smooth.
