Plans: 1. Fab the lower cowl bowl. Status: 10% complete. Work on the mold for a lower fiberglass cowl bowl has continued. Using Great Stuff the base for the mold has been completed. It will be covered with Bondo next. 2. Fab the cowl's airflow block. Status: Complete. Using the material that was cut from the cowl to make room for the grill an airflow block was constructed. The block will prevent air from entering the engine compartment other than through the radiator. 3. Tape the lower wing's leading edge. Status: Lower wings complete. The metal trim on the leading edge puckered away from the spar where it wasn't riveted. I was concerned that the fabric would not properly lay over it. Adding fiberglass strapping tape over the bulge appears to have corrected the problem. A felt layer is planned over the tapes so none of this should be visible after covering.
