Brief Description: ALT Field Relay & Fuel Pump Plumbing
Plans: 1. Insert a relay in the alternator field line. Status: Complete. So having just hooked up the field lines directly to the battery I was lamenting that I now needed to flip a switch or risk drawing down the battery. I stumbled across a relay at the electronics store and got an idea. I could use the relay to automatically disconnect the field line when the Master switch is off. Problem solved. 2. Upgrade the fuel pump inlet hose routing. Status: Complete. The inlet hoses to the fuel pumps were routed poorly due to the inability to bend a tight radius. I replaced portions of the hoses with brass elbows to clean up the installation. Things fit better now. I will need to recheck the flow rate but I don't expect any problems. 3. Contiue avionics hook-up. Status: Ongoing. I hooked up the coolant temperature line, half the ECU warning lamp and redressed the cables with a higher quality fabric wrap.
