Brief Description:  Center Section

Plans:
1. Continue the center section assembly.
Status: About 75% complete. This is turning out to be a complex assembly. I started by surgically removing the center rib. It had been installed off-center yesterday. I might have kept it as is but it bugged me. To correct this problem required removing a section of the L.E. reinforcement and patching the area. After the repair there was a slight pucker in the sheet metal as the new rib was slightly different. It does not show much so I think I will consider it good enough.

2. Construct hand holds.
Status: The hand hold area also creates a space for the pilot to enter the cockpit. To look Fokker proper the T.E. must be scalloped as well. So this little element is taking some effort to get something both functional and aesthetically pleasing. It is shaping up nicely. The entire area must be boxed in to increase the strength and seal the interior of the wing.
