Brief Description:  Center Section

Plans:
1. Continue center section assembly.
Status: About 50% done. Today’s session focused on riveting the ribs in position and attaching the leading edge reinforcement. I used a 9.5 inch wooden spacer to exactly separate the ribs to 10 inches O.C. before riveting. It also held the ribs perpendicular to the tabletop. Adding the reinforcement to the L.E. was done using ratchet clamps to draw the sheet aluminum uniformly. Rivets were then installed front to back at a 2 inch intervals. One serious mistake was performed in that I didn't notice the center rib had moved out of position. Unfortunately I riveted it in the miss-located place.

I also started shaping the scalloped hand holds for the pilot. The T.E. needs to be cropped a bit to allow the pilot to enter the cockpit.
