Plans: 1. Start wing fabrication. Status: Not much to show for the day. I sorted through the components for the wings. I sorted them into sections (upper, lower, center and struts). I found or rather didn't find the eye-bolts for the center section cables. I also have found that some of the tubing for the compression struts was supplied slightly short. I will need to buy replacement tubes to get the additional 1/8" they were cut short. Also in looking at the plans for the wings, it appears that the part numbers are not all correctly labeled. I must say that this is getting a little annoying. It leaves one wondering what else is not right. On the flip side, I have come to trust my judgement in making so many modification to the basic plan that I feel comfortable proceeding. The photos and other builder's websites help a lot to fill in blanks. After sorting the parts into separate kits I started cutting the compression struts to length. The length of the struts determine the cord length of the wings. For the Fokker center-to-center of the spars is set at exactly 29.0 inches. I also joined the lower wing spars to the carry throughs. It looks like an airplane now. Cool.
