Brief Description:  Storage Bin & iPad

Plans:
1. Complete storage bin fab and install.
Status: 98% done. I installed the felt liner and cargo-net retainer. I didn't get to adding additional braces yet. I had to wrap up today's effort a bit early.
2. Install iPad into instrument panel.
Status: Complete. So I decided to add an iPad to run ForeFlight. It will give me charts during flight. Unfortunately in my airspace it is too easy to stray into B and C. It's everywhere around me. Opening a paper chart during flight would be impossible in an open cockpit. I found an iPad mount online from a company called RAM. It was available from Amazon. There was also a system from Airgizmos offered by Aircraft Spruce. The system from RAM was less complicated and less expensive to adapt. It uses simple ball swivel bases with a connecting socket arm. It appears to have been intended for autos and boats. It installed easily with four bolts into the panel. It swivels to most any orientation. Because of the heavy iPad at the end of the arm I question if vibration during flight will be an issue. I also am hoping overheating will not be an issue given the natural airflow. Time will tell.
