Brief Description:  Rudder Cables

Plans: Install the rudder cable tubing.
Status: 95% completed.

Routing the rudder cables front to rear involves some serious consideration. I saw that in Sam Buchanan's Fokker he did not use cable protecting tubing. His technique was to take the straightest path from the pedals to the rudder using guides along the way. This resulted in some routing external to the fuselage. Having a straight and therefore short run would likely prove very safe. Hymer's Fokker used tubing to house the cable. The tubing could follow the contours of the fuselage. This is similar to the technique that AA normally appears to use. The AA version is very minimal and did not give me high confidence it would last long. I liked Hymer's technique best. Even if one could claim a safety benefit I doubt it would be significant. That is I see nothing unsafe by using the tubing. The cables can be freely routed. They are protected. Cables can be easily replaced without opening the fuselage. And lastly it will provide a good looking end result. At the moment I still need to insert the cable wire and sinch things down. So for the moment I still have a little left to do.
