Plans: Install Pilot's Seat: Status: Modest progress today. Unfortunately Aircraft Spruce was out of the aluminum tubing I needed to mount the seat. I was able to finish the remaining brackets however and bolt the carry-throughs into position. The carry-throughs need to be exactly 29 inches on center. You use washers to adjust the rear CT to get the correct spacing. The seat brackets mount to the carry-through.
The seat adjuster was also mounted to two small 0.125 surface plates for attachment to the support bars. The support bar is the part I am missing. Since the seat is narrow I needed to move the attachment points further apart. If I don't my legs will interfere with the support bracket. This approach however turned out to be a little flimsy. I will change it to a full size one piece plate instead. The seat glides nicely on the adjusters. For safety reasons I need to find a way to lock the seat in place. It could be a problem during flight should the seat shift location accidently.
I also laced the upholstery onto the aluminum seat. It would occasionally shift loose. To do so I installed brass grommets around the edges. For lacing I used parachute cord.
