Brief Description:  Rudder & Vert Stab

Plans:
1. Fabricate vertical stabilizer.
Status: Started. There are no plans associated with the vertical stabilizer. Basically you are looking at photos and the movie to see how it is done. Not much to go on but nevertheless it is a relatively simple structure so still doable. That said you fabricate the stabilizer in conjunction with finishing the rudder. They need to work together so the angles must be coordinated. I also found that the supplied materials were too short. They did not reach the fin post when sized to the horizontal stabilizer and rudder dimensions. All said and done I simply used new longer stock to make up the difference. I hadn't planned on finishing the rudder (which I did) so I was not able to complete the stabilizer.
2. Finish vertical stabilizer braces.
Status: Started. I was able to drill out the connecting tang holes and bend them to shape. I also installed them in place. I will install the brace wire once the stabilizer is finished.
3. Chemical prep the horizontal stabilizer struts for painting.
Status: Not today.
