Plans: 1. Replace landing gear 1/8" brace cable with 3/16" cable. Status: Complete. I decided it would be necessary to use a jig to tighten the 3/16" cables. They are too stiff to tension without help. Using turnbuckles strung between the legs and a scale I incrementally tightened the cables to square the legs. It worked pretty well. The scale read about 120 lbs. when I stopped. There is no right number I could find for the tension so I stopped with the max I felt a man could reasonably pull by hand. The Nicopress worked once I lengthened the arms with pipe. It was still difficult but now possible to do in place. I also found that by simply slitting the protective sleeving I could slip it on the cable. I used shrink tubing to hold it in place. Looks great! 2. Lengthen the axle wear bushings. Status Complete. I was able to use a spindle sander to open up the hole enough to slip on the axle. As the axle is slightly longer I increased the wear bushing about from 6" to 7" to compensate.
