Brief Description: Rudder blind riveting and remake of the HS front s
I succesfully finished the rudder and putted it aside.
Now the big topic of replacing the HS front spar took place in this session.
As seen on picture 2 and 3 it shows the reason for replacement. I formed the rivet too strong and the shophead was out of limit. I took it out and from then on every try to fix the issue made it even worse.
Finally I talked to Vans Support and we ended up using a Cherrymax Rivet and try to fix it. But since I had to drill a round hole it ended up with a diameter way too big to still provide sufficient edge distance (1,5 x diameter of the hole).
So the decision was made! I had to replace the hole front spar...
One nice side effect was, that when ordering the replacement parts at vans, I received the new series of the rips and therefor the riveting of the flanges was not necessary anymore.
