Brief Description: Vertical Stabilizer ready for inspection
First step thin afternoon was the flush riveting on the skin with the tungsten buckingbar. I started as mentioned in the plans at the intersection of VS-707 and VS-702 and worked first to the tip, then to the bottom and finally to the aft. The rivets at the top and the bottom were riveted with the pneumatic squeezer for the AN470 Size 3 rivets. Perfect and steady results. Since it went so well I forgot to leave the six (6) holes open at the bottom to mount the fairing later. I had to drill the 12 rivets out again. The vertical stabilizer is now ready for the inspection by the advisor. Only after the release from the advisor, I can close the VS with the rear spar to finish the work on this empennage part. So, I moved on and started to build the HS.
