After talking to my advisors and Sterling Langrell from Vans support team, I applied the Service Bulletin 14-01-31 today on the horizontal stabilizer. Since all newer kits have these modifications already as standard, Sterling recommended to apply both cracks service bulletins (SB 14-01-31 and SB 14-02-05) since I am still at the beginning of building the empennage. For the first time I was confronted with some tricky wordings/ explanations on the service bulletin construction explanation. I had to read the manual many many times. By the end of the day the rips HS-404 L/R were not yet match drilled. I need to assemble the horizontal stabilizer and put the skins back on and to final drill the 404/405 rips and finish the SB 14-01-31 modifications. To finish my work today, I prepared the HS skins by removing the blue coat with the soldering iron along the holes to be ready for deburring and dimpling.
