Today I had my friend Brandon Simrell come over to do an inspection of the electrical system in my airplane. He is an electrical engineer so this is right up his alley. We went over the electrical schematics, looked at quite a few of the connections that are made in the aircraft and discussed how things were crimped, what wire sizes were used and if certain components required additional fuses. The overall concensus was that things were in good order, however he suggested a few more panel mounted fuses to protect individual components like the magnetic compass and EFIS sensors. All the wire sizes were properly matched to the current expected which was comforting to hear.
