Brief Description:  Fuel System Test

Added fuel to tank and tested for leaks in my fuel system. Yes, a positive test, that is, I found a major leak. Significant amount of fuel leaked into forward fuselage but it was not clear from where it was coming from. I tighten several suspect attachment nuts, and also the attachment line to the tank itself that had a drip as well.

Second test was no better. The leak appeared to be from the most difficult place to address (firewall attachment that leads into the gascolator.) I removed the F-1259C fuel line and it was clear that I hadn't fabricated this correctly or at least it didn't fit good enough to the attachment hardware. I think I must have cut off some of the line by tightening the nut in the wrong way. Pictures attached. In any case, I re-fabricated the 8 3/4" line at least three times to get the perfect fit.

Reinstalled and did a third fuel system test. Success. No leaks this time. Got up to 2.9 psi pressure in the fuel system per the Skyview. Ran out of time today, but will do the flow test per the acceptance procedures next time.
