Finished assembling the vertical stablizer. Added the remaining pop rivets to the frame that I had not been sure to complete a few days ago. The plans seemed to suggest that I needed to not completely rivet all the main spar rivets at this stage but apparently I was good to go.
Also I had not drilled the spar flange holes into the lower spar cap and this needed to be done along with the necessary deburring. Should have done this before priming so I did some addtional touch up as the drill made two nicks in the previous priming I did. In any case, I was ready to attache the frame to the skin.
Spencer helped attach the skins. Not an easy job to do alone so he really was a help. He started helping to pull the pop rivets with the pneumatic puller, but he had to get his homework done so I finished the job. Definitely a tool he wants to use again. Also attached the upper hinge but since I've not bought a torque wrench yet, I just partially tighted the bolts.
So the first major step in RV-12 N913BC is now complete and resting in my garage loft. ...next job, the rudder!
