Brief Description:  Eagle's Nest project background (a must read!)

The Eagle's Nest isn't an aircraft factory up on a mountain somewhere. It is a group of high school students, all working in their school, under the direction of one of their teachers. This is the first Eagle's Nest project, but there will be more. These students are all Engineering students, Freshman through Senior. This group will not only build the first RV-12 to be built in a school, but help develop the lesson plans and aids other groups will use.

We are working in close conjunction with Van's Aircraft, and a group of teens that is building an RV-12 in Van's factory. Their help has been invaluable. Money for this project has been raised through donations and loans (until the aircraft is sold.) Donations are welcome! This aircraft will be sold when completed, and it will be sold AT COST!

12 students make up the group, and they are divided into teams with a student Project Manager. Team Leaders will make many of the assignments and student inspectors (under leadership of adult supervisors) will approve the workmanship. Mentors include teachers, aircraft builders, and EAA Chapter 1328 is helping with orgainzation and manpower. I (Bob Kelly) am an EAA Technical Counsilor and will be at all building sessions.

Some of this group will attend Airventure at Oshkosh in 2011. Meet them there!
