Brief Description:  Ailerons, El, and Rud

This is, again, a summary of activities and progress on a number of issues. I removed the Ailerons form the Upper Wings and went over them in detail, sanded the surfaces that I had sealed with Urethane. I then applied fabric covering using the Stewart System. This included all tapes over seams and friction points caused by the frame contact with the fabric covering. I then applied the 1st cross coat of Ecko Fill. They now need to be lightly sanded and additional spray coats applied of Ecko Fill.

I lightly sanded the Rudder and Stab and prep'd them from painting. Using Stewarts Urethane paint I applied a coat of White to both sides of each. When dry I taped out my "scheme" lines and taped each surface where a White Line would be desired. I then applied the Yellow Color I intend to use and let dry. I then taped and masked all white and yellow areas. The Black final color was then applied. When partically dried I removed all tape and masking covering the white and yellow to see the full paint scheme for the first time. The Rudder has a Checkered "scheme" and the Stap has the yellow with white stripe and black edges the rest of the Airframe will carry.

This was done to deteremine if I'll be happy with the scheme and colors. Only a quart of each color was purchased until I'm happy with the design. So far...I am and think this will be my design. I'll live with it for awhile and see how it wears. I've added some Red pin stripe tape to make some areas pop more to my liking as well. Have to be careful to contain the red and not over-do it. We'll see.
