Brief Description:  Fuse Bottom

Layed-out the bottom Fuse skin and started to drill in and cleco the Longerons, "L's" & "z" cross members. Got up to the forward larger "Z" cross members and discovered that the piece of aluminum I had for the job was not wide-enough. I had misunderstood the deminsions called for on the plans and failed to pick up the flair at the 300. 200. 100mm location behind the forward measurment listed on the plans that make the panel wider in those locations then the front demension. When I checked the piece of .025 I had to use for the part I was pleased to see it meet the forward measurement exactly - not looking carefully enough at the plans to pick up the flair in the next two locations toward the back. The piece was 4mm on each side too narrow. So again I've made a blunder that wasted my time, used up a piece of material that would have done other jobs and produced a part I cannot use. Plus - if I cannot match the holes in the "L's", "Z's" and longerons to the new piece when I get it, I'll have to remake them as well. But I am learning. There are a bunch of things on each page of the plans to pick up and the assembly manual does not point out each of them. It's dependent on the builder to do so. I'm missing far too many until I've put in a lot of work to only catch them then. But I'm still enjoying this project far more than I would have expected. My scrap pile it getting bigger than I want it to but I still have very little wasted material. I've tried to make other parts (by going ahead in the plans) with material I've made a mistake with and have been able to use a huge part of it that way. Mostly it's just a bunch of non-productive time used without progress.
