Brief Description:  Rudder Assembly

Continued to assemble Rudder Skeleton and Skin. Fitted bothTrailing and Leading edge skins, drilled, deburred, primed, re-assembled and cleco'ed, then riveted. At last - a piece that looks like it belongs on an airplane. Not finished yet. I still have to fit and add the lower fairing skin. Overall, I'm pleased with my first assembly but I knocked my rivet gun over on the trailing edge while it was laying on the table and it dented it. Not a big dent, I could spot putty it under paint....but....it's my first assembly and it's not what I want to see. I may do the whole thing over or at least change out the skin. It's a lot of rivets to drill out but we'll see as time passes.

I'm going to start work on the Horizional Stabilizer tomorrow or Saturday just o move to something else and use the ribs and spar I've completed so far.in Picture's 1 and 3 the skin for the Stab is seen behind the rudder under the window. The other parts are under the bench. I'll photograph them before I start assembly.
